Deep Ellum Shooting: Elm Street Incident Reported as Casualty Details Remain Unconfirmed
A shooting call in Dallas’ Deep Ellum neighborhood early Sunday, November 1, 2026, prompted reports that several people had been wounded.
Dallas police dispatch data listed the call shortly after midnight, but the number of victims and claims that someone died could not be independently confirmed.
Early accounts circulated alongside coverage of previous shootings in the same neighborhood. Those reports describe different incidents, making the dates and locations essential to understanding what is known about the latest call.
Police Record Shows Elm Street Response
The Dallas Police Active Calls listing recorded a shooting call at 12:19 a.m. in the 2600 block of Elm Street.
Multiple police units appeared under the same incident, with their status listed as being at the scene. The entry provides a time and location for the response.
That record does not establish how many people were shot, whether anyone died or what happened before officers arrived. It also does not identify a suspect or describe an arrest.
Because several units can appear under one incident, the number of entries should not be read as a count of separate shootings or victims.
The public dispatch listing is an initial record of police activity, rather than a completed account of the incident.
Reports of Injuries Await Confirmation
A CodeThreeNews post included in the early reports said multiple people had reportedly been shot in the Deep Ellum entertainment district.
It placed the reported shooting at approximately 12:19 a.m., matching the time shown in the police call listing.
Another account claimed that three people had been shot and one person had died. Other posts carried different casualty figures. None of those totals could be verified through the official information reviewed for this report.
Victim names, ages and medical conditions remain unconfirmed in the available material. The same applies to the number of people who may have fired weapons and whether anyone was taken into custody.
No statement about this incident appeared on the Dallas Police Department’s public news blog when it was checked.
The circumstances therefore remain unclear, including whether the reported gunfire occurred inside a business or outdoors.
Earlier Shootings Involve Separate Cases
Some reports appearing alongside the latest Deep Ellum shooting claims concern an August 23 incident.
In that case, police said three people were shot around 1:02 a.m. in the 2900 block of Elm Street. All three were taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to NBC 5’s August report.
Police arrested a 23 year old man in connection with that shooting. Its time, location and confirmed injuries belong to the August investigation and should not be attributed to Sunday’s call.
FOX 4 reported that officers heard a gunshot and saw a gray Dodge Challenger leave the area. Investigators later reviewed surveillance footage from that separate August incident.
Other coverage concerns two separate shootings reported in May. NBC 5 reported that those incidents left several people injured and security guard Joseph Gray dead. Police said the two May shootings were unrelated.
Those earlier cases provide background but do not confirm casualties in the November report. For the latest incident, the available official record establishes a shooting call on Elm Street and officers at the scene.
Further police information is needed to establish the victim count, any arrests and the sequence of events.
