Mally Roncal Family: Her Husband, Three Daughters and Filipino Roots
Mally Roncal is known for celebrity makeup, television appearances and Mally Beauty, but family comes up just as often when she talks about her life.
She is married to photographer Phil Bickett, and they have three daughters: Sophie, Pilar and Vivienne. Her interviews also show how strongly her parents influenced her approach to motherhood and work.
Her Marriage to Husband Phil Bickett
Phil Bickett has been part of Mally’s professional and personal life for years. In Celebrity Parents Magazine, she recalled meeting him in her early twenties and described him as a mentor while she learned the business of makeup artistry.
Their working relationship continued as Mally developed her cosmetics brand. They worked from their living room on Mally Beauty, which launched in 2005. Phil also had an acting background, and she said he helped her become comfortable on camera.
Mally describes them as best friends, parents and business partners. She has spoken about arranging the girls’ dance classes and dentist appointments before leaving for work trips. Even as her career grew, those everyday responsibilities remained part of her schedule.
Her Three Daughters: Sophie, Pilar and Vivienne
Mally and Phil welcomed twin daughters Sophie Grace and Pilar Elizabeth on December 12, 2006. People reported their arrival in September 2007.
Pilar was named after Mally’s late mother, giving her name a personal connection to the grandmother she never met. The twins turn 20 years old in December 2026.
Their younger daughter, Vivienne, completed the family of five. Mally’s family posts include birthday messages, holiday greetings and tributes to Phil as a father.
Motherhood has also changed how she thinks about her example as a woman. Speaking on A Certain Age, Mally reflected on her daughters watching both her and Phil as they move through life and work together. She spoke about wanting her girls to see women’s strength through the way she lives.
Being away from the girls has sometimes been difficult. Mally told Celebrity Parents Magazine that she had cried in a hotel after ending a video call with her children.
She has also shared a straightforward parenting rule passed down by her own parents: treat people with kindness and respect. Mally said she and Phil wanted to teach their daughters to live that way, too.
Her Parents and Filipino Family Background
Mally grew up in a Filipino American family. Her parents, Rogelio and Pilar Roncal, both worked in medicine.
Her mother was an obstetrician and gynecologist, while her father was a psychiatrist. She initially followed a path toward medicine before pursuing her interest in beauty.
Her mother had a particularly lasting influence. In interviews, Mally remembers her as glamorous, carefully dressed and enthusiastic about makeup.
Watching her get ready was an early introduction to the beauty routines that would eventually become Mally’s profession.
Mally was 17 when her mother died after living with breast cancer for many years. On A Certain Age, she recalled how her mother encouraged her to embrace opportunities and make the most of their time together.
Turning 50 carried special meaning because her mother had died at 49. Mally described that birthday as a chance to think about what she could still experience and accomplish.
Her memories of her mother continue to inform how she speaks about growing older, raising daughters and appreciating family life.
