The Kelly Clarkson Show: Five Wins at the 2026 Daytime Emmys
The Kelly Clarkson Show led the 2026 Daytime Emmy Awards with five wins, adding another successful night to its record just two months after its final episode.
The show won Outstanding Daytime Talk Series at the October 30 ceremony, while Sherri Shepherd took home the award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host.
The results brought the program’s total to 29 Daytime Emmy wins across its seven seasons, according to TheWrap. Its latest haul also recognized the crews responsible for directing, sound, sets and styling.
Five Wins Put Kelly Clarkson’s Show Ahead
Other nominees for the talk series award included The Drew Barrymore Show, Live with Kelly and Mark, The View, Third Hour of Today and Today with Jenna & Friends. Clarkson’s program finished ahead of all five.
Alongside the talk series award, the program won for directing a daytime studio nonfiction series and for sound mixing and sound editing for a live daytime program.
It also received the award for art direction, set decoration and scenic design. The fifth win came in hairstyling and makeup, where it tied with Beyond the Gates.
The official winners list credits Joe Terry as director, with Diana Horn as associate director. The sound team included music mixer Robert Venable and front of house mixer Omatali Beckett, among others.
Those awards gave several departments a place in the celebration, alongside the producers recognized for the series itself.
General Hospital and Beyond the Gates followed with four wins each. For Clarkson’s show, five trophies marked its third biggest annual Emmy haul, behind seven wins in 2022 and six in 2023, TheWrap reported.
The result added another chapter to an awards record that began with Clarkson winning a hosting Emmy for the show’s debut season in 2020.
Sherri Shepherd Wins the Hosting Award
Clarkson was nominated for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host, but Shepherd won for Sherri. Other nominees included Tamron Hall, Jennifer Hudson and the hosts of The View.
The distinction matters when counting Clarkson’s awards. The five trophies awarded to her program this year belong to different categories and teams. They are separate from her personal career total.
Clarkson now has nine Daytime Emmys, including five in the talk series category and four for hosting. She won in at least one of those categories in six of the program’s seven seasons, according to Billboard’s report.
Neither Clarkson nor Shepherd attended the ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, the Associated Press reported. Both won recognition for shows that had already finished their runs, with Sherri ending in May and Clarkson’s series following in August.
Why the Show Could Return in 2027
The Kelly Clarkson Show aired its final episode on August 31, 2026, but its Emmy eligibility did not end with that broadcast.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences uses calendar year eligibility. That means the 2026 ceremony recognized programming from 2025, while episodes broadcast during 2026 can compete at the 2027 awards, as Parade explained.
For viewers, that leaves one more possible awards appearance for a show whose daily broadcasts have ended.
Eligibility does not guarantee a nomination or another trophy, but it means the final episodes still have a chance to be recognized. The show has signed off, but its Emmy tally may still have room to grow.
